NEUter Fest
We hosted our 1st ever Neuter Fest and it was a complete success! During the event veterinarians, technicians and volunteers worked together to successfully neuter 25 cats. We would like to start by thanking South Bay Veterinary Hospital for graciously donating their time, doctors, and hospital to us for this great cause! We would also like to thank Feline Friends for helping us with registration, intake and discharge of all the cats! This event was successful because of the support we received from South Bay and Feline Friends! We are looking forward to our next Neuter Fest event on June 6, 2026! Pints and pups
Thanks to Tipsy Whale for hosting our latest event, Pints and Pups. We had 20 happy hounds and their thirsty owners show up for an enjoyable evening. Some of the highlights of our night included raising funds, recruiting new volunteers, as well as some new members! You can also check out some of the pics from our evening below!

South Sound Roller Derby’s Cats vs Dogs Event
South Sound Roller Derby’s Cats vs Dogs Event Supports Thurston County Humane Society
On Saturday, February 17th, 2026, South Sound Roller Derby held an event at the
Southwest Washington Fairgrounds in Centralia, with proceeds supporting the Thurston County Humane Society. The day featured two bouts: the first—a match-up between South Sound and Strawberry City—kicked off at 4PM, followed by a Cats vs Dogs themed bout at 6PM. Both bouts were intense, but ultimately only one team could emerge victorious.

Bout 2:
- Rollerdendrons – 209
- NW Nightmares – 232
At halftime, attendees enjoyed a “chuck a duck” contest, purchasing rubber ducks for $1 each for a shot at a $40 Wild Child gift card in Olympia. The winner was the person
whose duck landed closest to the bullseye.
The chuck a duck contest raised $220, with an additional $104 collected in cash
donations from attendees.
Congratulations to Jocelyn, who took home the $40 gift card to Wild Child!

2025 Cornhole for a Cause tournament a success!
Cornhole Recap
On September 7th Thurston County Humane Society's Cornhole for a Cause tournament, hosted by Tipsy Whale Mercantile, raised nearly $5000. This was largely due to the support of our sponsors and participants. We had 18 teams sign up for the double elimination tournament which included 10% off their tab at Tipsy Whale Mercantile that day.
The event was dog friendly and included raffle items, music, a food truck, and activities for kids and families.
1st place went to TNT who won a $200 prize and a founders mug giving them 10% off at Tipsy Whale.
2nd place went to Sack to the Future who won $100.
Congratulations to both teams who graciously donated their winnings back to the Humane Society.
